Where we are

Yellow Point Lodge is located on Vancouver Island in the province of British Columbia on Canada’s west coast. We are 24 km South East of Nanaimo and 75 kms north of the province’s capital, Victoria, B.C. on the east coast of the island.

By Road

From Highway #1 on Vancouver Isl. take either the north or south exits at Cedar Rd. Turn onto Yellow Point Rd. We are 11 kms. down Yellow Point Rd. from the north side or 6 kms. from the south approach at 3700 Yellow Point Rd.
Coming From Victoria: On highway ‘1’, about 5 kms North of Ladysmith, take the ‘Cedar Rd.’ exit to your right (the highway sign also lists ‘yellow point’) Travel about 3 kms past the school, and turn right onto ‘Yellow Point Rd’ at the Chuckwagon Market and gas station. In 6 kms, if you keep going straight, you’ll drive right down our driveway.
Coming From Nanaimo: On highway ‘1’, about 5 kms South of Nanaimo, turn left onto the ‘Cedar Rd.’ exit (at the lights right at the big ‘overpass’ just past the ‘Co Op’ gas station) Travel about 4 kms until you cross a silver, two lane bridge (the only one) and immediately turn right, at all the little, local signs. Go a couple of kilometers through the village of Cedar and bear left onto Yellow Point Rd. (at the big, blue firehall) Travel 10 kms, past the ‘Inn of the Sea’, up the hill and we’re at the top of the hill, on your left.

By Ferry

Catch a B.C. Ferry from either Horseshoe Bay or Tsawassen bound for Nanaimo.
From Horseshoe Bay: Follow the ‘coming from Nanaimo’ section above.
From Twawassen: Leave the terminal, and follow the directions to ‘Victoria’. Proceed down highway ‘1’ for about 10 kms and turn left onto Cedar at the second set of lights after the Airport. (at Xtend Rentals) Follow the ‘coming from Victoria’ section above, from the Cedar Rd. exit onwards.

By Air

Make your final destination the Nanaimo Regional Airport (YCD).
There is scheduled service several times daily from Vancouver Intl. (YVR) and daily non-stop flights from Calgary (YYC), Edmonton (YEG) and seasonally from Toronto (YYZ).

There is floatplane and helicopter service from downtown Vancouver and YVR’s South Terminal to Nanaimo Harbour.

By Sea

You can bring your boat to the lodge, but anchorage is limited and seasonal. We have a small dock and two mooring buoys but are exposed to the sometimes harsh and unforgiving South-east wind which makes for great views but is no fun for your boat in a storm.
